I think I have almost lost the battle with my husband. Yes the only battle we have: Where to live warmer vs. colder. Crap. A few months ago I thought I had it won. We could live in a beautiful snow filled state baby, I can handle the cold...really I can. Fireplaces, Hot cocoa, Snowball fights(that I would win... naturally!). I like the cold vs. the horrible Alabama heat that comes with sticky sweat. Yeah, I lied. I didn't know it at the time, but I lied. We have had a very long winter with way too much snot. And the only Question on my mind is: Is it spring yet? I realize that our winter is probably fall to some people. But it has been an unseasonable cold winter in Alabama. It actually stayed below freezing for like 2 weeks. (I'm sure the people up north are letting out a good ole belly laugh at that last comment!) And after much thought I decided I can't wait for spring. Warmer weather means I can open the windows and let my small energy-filled children go outside!(Through the doors not the windows of course...not that they wouldn't try to go out the window if I gave them the chance!) They are driving me crazy, begging to go outside and ride the bicycle that Santa brought them....way to go Santa!(You couldn't have gotten a nice indoor game to occupy their little minds?) I think I may even plant some flowers this spring to occupy my outdoor time. Ha! Then again maybe not since I have a tendency to kill all things green. Which makes me wonder if planting a garden with my husband is a good idea? Yes, you heard right! The woman who loves flowers but kills all things green wants to plant a garden and grow her own veggies.(Go ahead let out a good laugh....I just did!) Well we will just have to see how this plays out.(And of course it will be blogged about!) Watch out world here comes Farmer Fowler!!!:) Anyway the point is I am beyond ready for spring and so are my three small children who are finding new things to do in the house everyday.(Like sneaking crayons out of the box and drawing pictures of pretty flowers on their brother's wall...) So if we survive this winter I may just tell my husband he was right and agree to move to a warmer climate when we retire.....Or I may just tell him it was my idea all along! I think I like that idea better! Until next time...

ReplyDeleteDon't fret about a garden! You'll love it. We have been growing one for 6 years now and it's the best. I just started canning in the last 2 years. It's nice to open up some of those great summer veggies in the middle of winter. Plus they are so much healthier for everyone too! Can't wait to hear how it goes!
