Saturday, December 31, 2011

Well, here we are. The last day of 2011. Unbelievable! Wasn't it just December 2010? I think so. I love the beginning of a new year. It's so hopeful and refreshing to have a new start. I am so grateful that God gives us new beginnings. He is so good. We have been beyond blessed this past year. I wish I could remember if I made a resolution last year or not, but I can't. I must be getting old. It's the young carefree mindset I have. I was thinking about this coming up year and wondering if I should make resolutions or not. Then I stopped and realized that I have never really asked God what he wants from me in the upcoming year. So I've thought and prayed about it. I've come up with a few things that I think will not only benefit my own life(spiritually and physical) but my families life also. I really feel lead by the Lord on these new beginnings.  So here's some of my resolutions that are not so unattainable that I know I will never be able to achieve them.
Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

  1. Grow in the Lord. Always seeking His face in times of happiness and not just in times of need. Part of this is reading His word every day. This is something that I lack in. When I know that it is something that will only benefit me and others.                                                                                                                         Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered," It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
  2. Become healthier. I have not been as healthy as I want. I want to change that. Not just because it's a new year but because it's been something that's been on my heart and mind the past few months. I don't just want to be a certain size, I want to me the best of me that I can be. It will benefit my life as well as the life of my family, If I'm healthy, they will be too. If I choose an apple over a cookie, they will see that and want to do it also.                                                                                                              1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.                                                                                                                                   1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
  3. Be a better homemaker. I have improved the past few weeks on my homemaking skills. I'm not a dirty person nor was I an excellent housekeeper. I would do what was "necessary" and really not beyond that. The bathrooms could always use a little more attention and the dishes should have been put in the dishwasher last night. The past few weeks, I have been trying to tidy up a bit more through the day. Instead, of letting my dishes sit until after supper or the next morning(ahem!), I go ahead and put them straight into the dishwasher as they are dirtied.(Is that a word? dirtied? It looks weird. Moving on.) Who really wants to walk into a dirty kitchen? Not me. And the way my house is set up(very, very open! You walk into the living room and see the kitchen and dining...it's one huge family room...I love it!) neither does anyone else who walks in. I have really been convicted about being a better housekeeper. This is something that I really want to work on. I want to take pride in my work. Housekeeping is part of my work. This is also part of teaching my kids about how their houses should be up kept in the future, when they have their own homes.                                                                                                                                           Titus 2:3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the  word of God.                                                 Proverbs 31: 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
These are my top three resolutions life changing goals. I hope to be a better wife, a better mother, and most importantly, a better servant of Christ. I pray that you have a wonderful and blessed New Year!

Have you ever wondered what goes through my head?

HA! Sometimes, I wonder what goes through my head! I decided to give a quick run-down of what is going through my head. It's ever changing and sometimes, I'm right in the middle of a wonderful thought and then..... What was I saying? I don't remember. Wait, why am I holding the remote in the bathroom. Wait, where's the phone? Why am I in the bathroom? You get the idea? Great, I'm not alone! So here ya go! Happy Tuesday!

I am so happy we had a Merry Christmas! Why can't I stop sneezing? The kids must have given me their cold. So glad they finally decided to share. Micah hid {1} Littlest Pet Shop remote control race car. I am not complaining. Sweet Pea is. I promised to help her look later. Darn. I am ready for the New Year. Should New Year be capitalized? Yes, I am home schooling my children. Why do you ask? Home school. I need to plan the next few months out this week for home school. Sweet Pea is really interested in the human body. I am going to create a human body study. One appropriate for a 5 year. I did find a craft on Pinterest for pasta shaped skeleton's. Should be fun. I also found this craft for a child size print out of the skeleton. Both right up her ally! Naturally, since she's interested in it, little sister and brother are too. I love it! The kids need breakfast. I hear one "I'm hungry" and soon 2 more will follow. I'll be right back.....

I'm back! Did you miss me? You so sweet! The kids are fed and watching A Bug's Life on Disney channel. What is it with people wanting kids to grow up before they should? Let's take Barbie for example. I opened, what felt like a million, barbies this weekend and was rather appalled at their choice of clothing. None of them had on a skirt that came to mid-thigh. Mid-thigh! If they had pants on then, their shirt's came above their pants to reveal a belly button. And their shoes! Their shoes were all 6 inch spiked heels. What?! Has Barbie always been like this and I'm just now noticing because my girls are playing with them? Yikes! Just an FYI my vet doesn't have scrubs that look like this:

Just sayin'! I am in need of a grocery store visit. I need to make a list, check it twice. Ha! Anyway. I need to plan out my menu for the next week. Here's some pointers if you need to save some money at the grocery store. Tip #1: Don't go to Wal-Mart if you don't have to! They may think they have the lowest prices around, they don't! Sometimes, you just have to go, but I try to avoid it if at all possible. Tip#2: Coupons! Buy the Sunday paper, clip them, use them. Especially at Publix they have the best coupon policy around. (Well, in our area anyway.) Tip#3: Shop the sales at every store in your area! Tip#4: If it's not on sale, don't buy it! Tip#5: Make a menu and a list. Take it to the store and stick to it! Trust me. It works. I love grocery shopping. I use to hate it with a passion. I would put it off to the last possible minute. Now, I find joy in planning out a healthy meal for my family. I enjoy looking for deals and getting the most for my money. I am also beyond grateful that we have the choice to go to any store we want and buy just about any type of food we want. Blessed. I got a Kindle Touch for Christmas! Eeck!
Isn't it nice? I love it! My kids gave it to me.  I am reading the Hunger Games. So far, it's a pretty good book. I also got a fishing pole. I love to fish. It's been years since I have gone fishing. I gave my hubby a game saver. So now, I can catch all the fish and he can save them in the game saver! hehehe! ;) He also got me a bicycle with a place to put a basket. :) I love it! It's been raining so I haven't had a chance to really ride it. I can't wait until it clears up. I could take me a picnic lunch packed with my kindle tucked inside and my fishing pole and ride my bicylce all at the same time. My hubby's creative like that! He loves me. Which is great, because I love him too! (and it's not even Valentine's Day yet!) I need to get started on laundry, I forgot to do it yesterday. Oh, well! There is always today. And tomorrow. No, today. Today. I also need to find my Beef Stew recipe. Hmmm. I wonder what I did with it. I hope it's in the recipe book where it's suppose to be. I make an awesome beef stew. It's delicious. Just so you know.  So I guess I need to wrap this up and get started on home school work and laundry and beef stew. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Happy Tuesday!

Griswold's meet the Fowler's

....sigh.....Sigh......SIGH.....SIGH! Did you hear me sigh? Oh, you did. Do you want to know why? Two words....my son. Someone has turned up his little boy dial to 200 and forgot to warn me. He has been a pistol lately! He gets into everything and before I turn around he is into something totally different. He is definitely making me earn my "mom card". Sunday was a rather rough day for me and his daddy him. So I'll tell the story of his day in a Not My Son Monday way. If your child has not been having an awful time lately or if you have not been having a hard time keeping up with said child, then join in the therapeutic fun.

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

My son did not get put in the corner in Sunday school. This mama did not even ask what he did but instead told him that is not how you should act at all, especially in church.

My son did not throw crayons in little children's church on Sunday. My husband and I did not teach the class and put him in the corner for all to see.

My son did not leave the corner only to throw another cup of crayons across the room. He would never be disrespectful to others. He listens to us when we teach these things.

My son did not take a piece of the soft foam stuff that looks like a puzzle apart and try to hide under it. We did not see only feet sticking out in the middle of the room. I did not muffle a laugh because it was kind of funny!

My son did not come home and poop in his pants. Nope not my son. He is fully potty trained. He poops in the potty like a civilized three year old. Well, you know what I mean.

My son did not, during a family Christmas party at our house last night, come running out of his room wearing only Spiderman underwear. My son then, did not pull his underwear up as high as they could go in front of the whole family. He then, did not bend over in front of everybody in the house and make his butt "talk". TALK. That's right...one hand on each underwear covered butt cheek and move them back and forth. In front of everyone. Everyone. The entire room did not bust out laughing. I did not completely die of embarrassment. After the guest left, I did not get right in his face and tell him that is not how little gentlemen acted. We do not make our hiney's talk and we do not run around in our underwear for everyone to see.

After he went to bed, I did not laugh and then pray oh, Lord, please don't let him be the Cousin Eddy(from Christmas Vacation) of the family. Then I thought, Cousin Eddy...you've met your match....meet

Cousin "The Boy"

Merry Christmas from The Griswold's   The Fowler's

Not me Monday...

Welcome to Not Me Monday! A place where you can, join the many mom's all over the blog world who have done thing's they never thought they would and lived to {sometimes embarrassingly} tell about it. So, if you would like to join up, head over to Mcmama's blog and join in the blogging fun. So this is what I have {not}been doing this week:

I {did not} skip a week of exercising. I would{never} do such a thing. I {did not} feel the sluggishness that came with not exercising. Nope, not me.

My son was {not} a walking disaster this past week.

He was{not} standing still with his hands in his pants and then just out of no where fall flat on his face. He also did {not} scrap the top layer of skin off his top lip with his teeth. He did {not} bleed all over the place and then only 1 minute after he stopped say, "Was I a dood* patient? Do I det* a stick-der*?" *good, get, and sticker*

I most certainly did {not} say, "Yes, of course!" and then giggle about it because he was so darn cute! He then did {not} run off to play with the girls.

He most certainly did {not} try to bite his toenail and it most certainly did {not} bleed all over the place. He most certainly did {not} on the very same night, fall over his toy "workyshopy" and scratch his face.

And he most certainly did{not} get his gracefulness from me.

I do {not} melt when I see my 3 kiddos play together nicely. I do {not} LOVE when The Boy calls his sisters, "his girls". He says, "Mommy, where are my durls?" So sweet. Then the girls come running and then they run off together in peaceful harmony. And I do {not} melt again.

Exactly 7 minutes later, my melty(is that a word?) self does not return back to normal because, Sweetie Pie did {not} hit her brother with a pretend doll car seat.

Exactly 10 minutes later, after time-out was over, Sweetie Pie did {not} slam her sister into the wall. Why? Because, she didn't want to play with her. SIGH.

The boy did {not} break Sweet Pea's Chinese yo-yo that she got from church yesterday. Sweet Pea did {not} have a drama queen melt down of epic proportions. I do {not} know where she gets being a drama queen from. Not me.....

My son did {not} ask me if I had googly eyes and then he did {not} try to poke me eye just to be sure.

My night did {not} end with doing a family science experiment. I did {not} add vinegar to baking soda. My kids most certainly would {never} like something so messy. Never...

We also did {not} start "The Bouncing Egg" experiment last night either. We did {not} put a raw egg in water and a raw egg in vinegar to see what happens to the shell. Nope, we don't even like science.....

I am {not} excited that Bones has new episodes on Netflix. Today I am {not} excited that I can do laundry while watching Bones. Not me....

I am {not} slightly proud of myself for getting up and exercising this morning while reading my bible devotion at the same time.( Exercise bike!) I have {not} already drank a whole glass of water while writing this blog post. :)

That's all today my dears! But the week is still young.... :)
I hope ya'll have a good week!

The Birmingham Zoo....minus a few monkeys

I am so behind on my blog post and pictures. I finally upload pictures from my camera and had, are you ready? Are you sure? Ok. I had 584 pictures on my camera. Oh. My. That is a little extreme, even for me. I had forgotten all the great pictures I took at the zoo. So here's a few for you, a few months behind. Better late than never! Right?.....Wait, did you not hear me? Better Late Than Never, RIGHT? Right!

Sweetie Pie is seriously interested in the map, Sweet Pea could care less and the Boy has a feather in his hand. These are all signs that it's going to be an interesting day!
Daddy Lion looked a little hungry. Or maybe he was annoyed that he got a bad hair cut? I 'll go with the later. ;)
Fist stop was the African Lion exhibit. They had a whole pride of  lions at the zoo. It was pretty awesome to see! Although Mama Lion looked a little nervous.

"Look Mommy! A trash can!" SIGH  The boy never misses a trash can.

"If I hide behind this stick, they'll never see me!"
This gorilla had us laughing our tails off! He seriously stayed behind the stick for about 5 minutes, barely moving! Hilarious!

What you are about to see can only be found at an Alabama Zoo. A ZOO! I wish I could make this up. I really, really do. Also, no where else in the world would a parent make their child take a picture on one of these. Caution: You may laugh. If not, then maybe we just have a sick sense of humor because we laughed for days over this. You may continue!
.....
......
......
.......
........
........

That's right folks, only at the Birmingham Zoo will you find an out house! Thankfully not a real, working non working out house but still they had one.  We made the kids each take a picture  Each child eagerly waited their turn to have a picture taken on the "think tank", the oval office, the throne, the super bowl the toilet. Sweetie Pie was the only one who really was eager to have her picture taken. She came up with this pose on her on.  She's her father's daughter.

And this was at the end of the day. Sweet Pea, gracefully dancing in the back , The boy ringing a bell he was told 43.5 times "that's enough!" and Sweetie Pie, mad because she's not dancing and ringing the bell at the same time.

And that my friends was our zoo trip in a nutshell! Fun, huh? It was a lot a fun. Especially when they all went to sleep on the way home. And the husband and I went to Sonic and got an icy treat and didn't even have to share!  Yup! It was a lot of fun!

Not me Monday...

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Today is definitely a not me and a not my child  Monday. After all peanut butter is better with jelly and Oreo's are better with milk. So if you would like to hop on board the Not Me train, then head on over to MckMama's blog and join in! So here's what I have not  been doing this week.....

I {did not} decide on Friday I was taking a stand and not doing any more laundry. Thank you very much! Only to do laundry while watching a marathon of The Vampire Diaries on Friday night with the husband on Netflix.
I{am not} slightly addicted to that show. At all. I promise. :)
I have{not} not posted a lot pictures to my blog because I keep forgetting to upload them to my computer. There are {not} pictures on my camera from 2 children's birthday's. There are probably{not} over 300 pictures on my camera. That is {not} a guess because I'm a little scared to look!
I {did not} find poop in my son's underwear this morning while doing laundry. Nope! My son would poop in the potty. And even if I did find poop in his underwear, he would tell me. He's a big boy now, after all.
I {did not} go on a date with my husband on Saturday. And we most certainly{did not} finish our Christmas shopping 2 weeks before Christmas. This {is not} the first time in 7 1/2 years that we are completely done before Christmas Eve.  Nope! Not us!
My child, Sweetie Pie{did not} have a melt down over supper Saturday night with the babysitter. She {did not} make the observation that there was sauce in pizza rolls, proclaim that she doesn't like sauce and then proceed to gag. All while Sweet Pea is saying, "Oh no!...Oh no!" My child{does not} have an easy gag reflex and {is not} a picky eater. She {did not} have cereal for supper because, "Ce-ree-al doesn't have sauce in it!"
My son also{did not} have a meltdown with the babysitter. He {did not} play in the bathroom sink for 5 minutes, until his hands were wrinkled. And then lay in the floor and cry because he couldn't play longer. He {did not} stop crying until a cookie was given to him. My child{doesn't} even know what bribery is. AHEM. I most certainly{do not} bribe him with cookies or cartoons on Netflix. Nope! Not me!
So that's what I have {not} been doing! What have you {not} been doing? Happy Monday and Happy Not Me-ing!

Happy December!

Christmas is almost here! Well, it's closer anyway. My kids have a count down going on, only 24 more days. Twenty four because, you should NEVER count today. Right? Right! So we are doing an advent calender thing this year but, a little different. We are doing one Christmas ornament everyday with a different name of God on it. Cute idea right? I got it from Pinterest. I strongly like Pinterest. It's a good way to say, "If I had time, I could do that. I'll pin it, so I can remember where it's at!" Of course, this would only work if I actually got off Pinterest and made something I pinned. Crazy. :) So if you want you can go to my pinterest board's and see some really cute ideas. You know, if you have the time! :)

I finished up my hubby's Christmas and Birthday gift shopping today. See his birthday is just around the corner from Christmas. Lucky guy! He gets me and his birthday near Christmas. ;) So I wrapped most of his stuff and put it under the tree. I can't wait until he opens it. Hehehehe! I love surprises. Except when they are for me. Remember, I got caught for trying to gently shake a gift? Yeah, now I'm afraid to even try to look at my gifts from across the room. Ninja girl Sweet Pea will be watching my every room. My children are so nosey! I have no idea where they get it from!

We are going to be studying the human body after Christmas! This is something my Sweet Pea and Sweetie Pie are really interested in. They are all about trying to figure out how things work. And my sweet boy is just as curious, so it should be an interesting lesson, to say the least! I love that we can pick a topic and learn about it at our own leisure.

I just found out that a family we go to church may or may not be having a battle of Christmas lights with her neighbor across the street. I may or may not take the kids to her neighborhood to see the lights. :)

We are having a purse party at church for our ladies group. It's gonna be fun! Basically, we'll be playing dirty Santa with purses. Fun, right? And we're having breakfast/brunch. So much fun. :)

Target has got the cutest stuff. Don't you think? I mean Wal-mart is fine and all, but Target has got such unique stuff. You never can tell what you may find in their dollar bins. I bought some wrapping paper there today. It's so cute. Give me a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks and some time to browse and I am in paradise! So much fun.

Well, I guess that's all the random fun I can have at the moment. I have dishes to do. And as my Sweet Pea told me when yesterday. "Your a mom, that's what you do!" Yeah, I guess so! ;) Happy December!

Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up! (these are her words, by the way, not mine!) ;)

If you want to link up also head over HERE and join in the fun!

  • To be beyond excited for Christmas!!! I love everything about Christmas!
  • To also try to be patient and take in every single moment because it will never be the same as it is right now. My kids are only 3,4, and 5 once. So I choose to enjoy it!
  • To make homemade biscuits for breakfast and nail it! Thank you!
  • To LOVE Pinterest! It's so much fun. You should try it.
  • To get caught red handed trying to shake a gift my husband put under the tree last night, by my oldest child. She told on me. That is so wrong.
  • To be excited that it is cold and to be a little disappointed that it didn't snow very much here last night. I love snow, for a season, anyway!
  • To be excited to go shopping with my husband for a date night Saturday. It's the small things!
  • To see Breaking Dawn last week. It was awesome! It actually went with the book a lot more than the others!
  • To also know that vampire's don't sparkle. I just love the love story! :)
  • To want to see the new Muppet's movie with my husband and the kids. I may be a little too excited about it. Maybe. Just a little.
  • To want Wipe Out on the Wii. That show is so ridiculous and so entertaining! We laugh all the way through it.
  • To be reading the Gingerbread Man story to my kids(you know the, "Run, run as fast as you can you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!") and loving every minute of it.
  • To be making gingerbread men on Friday with the kids.
  • To be making gingerbread men with a foot eaten off and an icing face with a look of horror. It's funny.....you know it is. ;)
  • To know at least my husband will get a laugh out of the crippled gingerbread man.
  • I love him.
  • The end.

Happy Thanksgiving and a story about missing...

Happy Thanksgiving! Yeah, it's a day late and a dollar short, huh? We have had such a relaxing long weekend. The hubs was off from Thursday until Sunday. "You mean 4 whole days?....Daddy is off 4 days in a roll?"(Yes a roll...not a row!)" said, the girls. The kids LOVE when he is off, especially when he is off for longer than just the weekend. We had Thanksgiving lunch at our house. We just got caught up on the dishes....yesterday. I guess cooking for 2 days straight will pile up the dishes. It was nice. The family time, not the dishes. Then on Friday, the kids stayed home with their daddy and I went shopping! Woo-hoo! Black Friday shopping is sooooo much fun! My mama and I went early Friday morning. We decided there really wasn't that much we needed at 10 or midnight.(Wait...10? That's not late. Wait...yes, it is. Ten is bedtime. Thank you and Good Night!) We were at our first store around 5:30 and who was there? Nobody! That's right the longest line we waited in was maybe 20 minutes. All day. We still got some amazing deals. Let all the crazy people go through first, and we'll come in and take our time and find the good stuff! Then Saturday we had a Lord of the Rings marathon, followed by putting up our Christmas decorations. Sunday we went to church and came home and relaxed some more! It was all going great until after supper. Ha! Have you seen Daddy Day Care? You know the part where the little boy comes out of the bathroom and says, "I missed?" Eddie Murphy says, " What do you mean, you missed?" And he walks in with a look of shear horror that can only come from seeing poop in places it shouldn't be! Then it  gets worse when he looks at the ceiling? Yeah, that so happened to us last night. The boy. That's really all I need to say. The boy. I'll save the gruesome details. He at least made it well, for the most part, to the bathroom. Thankfully, it wasn't on the ceiling. Wait....let me go check just to be sure.
Nope, not on the ceiling. Thank God! All I can say is the bathroom is now clean. And so is the carpet around the bathroom. We are short 2 toothbrushes, don't ask. At least, we had 2 extras. At least, he didn't try to "paint" the bathroom. I probably would have quit. So would my husband. We would be on the road to anywhere but Poopyville , USA. With that being said, I cleaned and sanitized all bedrooms this morning, you know just in case we "missed" a spot. Yikes. Well that was more fun than anyone should have on a Sunday night. So I thought I would share so we wouldn't have to bear this disgusting burden alone. (Please, tell me someone knows how to make my child poop in the potty? Please? I will give you 2 hugs and candy cane for any advice to help him "not miss" ever again. Thanks from one very desperate I've tried everything, I'm tired of poop not being in the potty, mommy!) So here's to a better Monday. I hope it's a lot better than last night. :)

The Holidays

The Holidays. I love the Holidays! This time of year is one of my favorite times. One of the most anticipating times. I wait patiently all year for Thanksgiving. It represents a time of family, friends, worship of my Saviour. A spirit of giving and love are so profound, that it makes my heart swell with love and giving, more than any other time of the year. I am so thankful for the many different blessings in my life. My family, that seems to be growing all the time.(Extended family that is...) New sisters, new nieces and nephews. It makes me so proud to be a part of their lives. I love how Thanksgiving is a time where it's all about family. There is no pressure to give anyone a certain gift. It's a time where eating is king and fellowship is queen. We dwell in the royalty of what Thanksgiving is really about. Thanksgiving ushers in Christmas. The tree goes up, gifts get wrapped, Christmas music is never turned off the radio and we worship our King. It's true, we can get caught up in the hustle and bustle of being here and there, with so and so's gift, and don't forget that plate of food. But, if we just slow down and take in the small things, then we realize what Christmas is all about. The birth of a King born in a manger. Without him, we would have nothing. He is the reason my kids eyes light up when they see Christmas lights on a drive around the neighborhood. He is the reason I love quite nights with my husband while drinking coffee and talking about everything and nothing in the warmth of this beautiful home He has blessed us with. It's such a cliche saying but, He really is the reason for the season. As I enjoy the ever growing anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas, my prayer is that it would come slowly. That I would be able to look around and absorb every single blessing that is in my life. The laughter that comes from my parent's dining room table at Thanksgiving, when the whole family is together. The memories that come from a familiar dish or a certain smell. That I would not rush the putting up of the tree. If it takes all night for little hands to put ornaments on the tree, then so be it. Because, their hands will only be little once, why rush it? To remember the reading of the Christmas Story that Micah's grandaddy reads every year on Christmas Eve. The true reason. My prayer for you is to slow down, take it all in, and remember the good things you have and be thankful, because the holidays only come around once a year. :)

Getting Pistol whipped by your brother ain't no fun!

Take it from a cowgirl who knows. No, not me. This time. It started out like any other night. Supper....fighting..... bath's..... fighting....fake crying....real crying. Oh, great! What happened? What happened?(Everybody is a chatter box until someone gets hurt, then it's all...We didn't see nothing and I didn't do it!) Daddy came to the rescue!
Sweetie Pie :"AAAAAHHHHHH, takes a deep breath, AAAAHHHHH!" (The girl has a scream that can honestly wake the dead and break glass. All at the same time!)

Me: "Oh, so that's what happened, please go on."

Daddy: " BROTHER HIT HER ON THE HEAD WITH HIS TOY PISTOL!"

Sweetie Pie:" AAAAAAHHHHHHH, takes deep breath, AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"

Me: " Are you OK?

Sweetie Pie:" AAAAAHHHHH, takes short shallow breaths, NO! Brother sobs HIT ME!!! sobs...

Me: Oh, I guess you're not OK. You have a huge knot and bruise on your head! clears throat because I still sound like a 94 year old chain smoker from these stupid cold  "HEY SWEETIE, YOUR SON HIT HER HARD, SHE HAS A BRUISE AND A HUGE KNOT!"

Sweetie Pie: "AAAAHHHHH takes more shallow breaths....sobs.....deep breath.... AAAAAHHHHH!

Daddy: "WHY IS HE ALWAYS MY SON WHEN HE'S BAD???!!!"

Me: grumbles in a whisper "Because I didn't teach him to pistol whip his sister! I was a good kid! smiles Unless you include those time I told my brother's I wanted to dress them up like a clown, only to really be putting makeup on them. Ha!"

Sweetie Pie: "AAAhhhh! You put make up on yor broders"

Me: "I think you need an ice pack....Come on lets get one!"

And that is a typical Sunday night in the Fowler house. Well let's not be too hasty...It's every night, not just Sunday! :)

You need to go to the Wal-mart's....

This is what my dear sweet boy told me Monday night. He said, " Mommy, you need to go to the Wal-mart's and det me sum Trismas Tree Takes and Ginnnggerbread(he says it like he's been drinking too much egg nog, the alcohol version) Tooties." Translation: Go to Wal-mart and get me some Christmas Tree Cakes and Gingerbread Cookies...of the Little Debbie Variety. I thought it was cute, but not cute enough to go to Wal-mart on a Monday night.  It ended up, that I had to go to the doctor on Wednesday. I sound like I've been a chain smoker for 47.2 years. FYI: I've never smoked a day in my life. Ever. I like my lungs, they're a good friend to have. Especially if you like to, you know, breath. Which I do. So, turns out it's just sinus junk. So, 2 shots, a script for antibiotics and some nasty cough syrup and I'm on my way to the Wal-mart. (I should have gone to Walgreen's but that sweet little boy asked me to get him some Christmas treats. And how could I turn down that little sweet face?!) Oh joy! Not just any Wal-mart but the lovely Pell City Wal-mart. I don't know what it is about that one, but I think the website People of Wal-mart was created for this Wal-mart. There are some characters there let me tell you! I think me and maybe 3 other people in the whole store where the only one's actually walking. Everyone else, was riding in a motorized wheel chair. Maybe, 2 people actually needed it. Oh my goodness. Why do people do that? FYI: Laziness is not a handicap! And on a side note, they don't know how to use the brakes! I am not a tree, do not run into me! Thank you! After I look through the aisles as safely as I can which is not easy with lazy wheel chair drivers almost running into me, I make a b-line for the Christmas Tree Cake and Gingerbread Cookies. I find them as quickly as possible and leave.(After I pay for them of course!) On my way out, the new Chick-fil-A is busy. "Oh, it must be open!" I say to myself. "They have tents in the parking lot....Wait! What? Tents in the parking lot?!" What the crap!?" Turns out the grand opening was the next day. Wow, people. Really? If you were one of the first 100 customers you get a free chicken sandwich for a year. Hmm. I don't know that I would sleep in a tent, in the cold rain, for 52 free chicken sandwiches. I went home and was glad I don't have to go back to the Wal-mart for a while. At least I hope not. I can't take another day out with tents in a parking lot and motorized wheel chairs. I just can't. I get Wal-mart Rage. (kinda like Road Rage but much worse. I think it's hereditary. Moving on. ) So that was my week in a nutshell. Here's to a much happier weekend sans a Wal-mart visit and a voice like a 97 year old chain smoking man.

P.S. Happy Veteran's Day! Thanks for all you do! (If you're a Veteran you can ride in a motorized wheel chair and I won't get Wal-mart Rage....I promise!)

Mommy and Me...

Today is my "normal" grocery day. I use the term, "normal" very loosely. Because well, there isn't anything that's "normal" about our family. I mean, where else can you find enough goldfish pieces in your daughter's floor to actually make a full bag of goldfish, all under a pile of toys? Or where else can you find a 3 year old who refuses to wear anything but underwear when it's 40 degrees outside? Or where a 5 1/2 year wants to pull all of her teeth out so she can get one more dollar?

 {Dear Sweet Pea, please stop trying to pull all your teeth out at once. Soon, you will have no teeth. This is not good because, you don't like mashed potatoes. You do like applesauce and yogurt, so I guess you would survive. But still, let's slow down for now, OK? I mean, you growing up just too fast. And it freaks people out a little that you're only 5 1/2 and have lost 3 teeth. Then again, it really doesn't matter what people think so, pull baby pull. Just slow down, OK? OK! Love, mom who only carries debit card and no cash :)}

 Moving on....
So today I'm going to get groceries. Instead of going by myself, (thanks to Mimi who watches the kids while I go by myself), I'm taking Sweetie Pie. My sweet little soon to be 4, oh my goodness when did my baby turn 4, Sweetie Pie. She is our middle child and I think she feels like some of our attention isn't quite on her as much. We do give her attention but I think she feels like she's not old enough to be like Sis-Sis(as she calls Sweet Pea and Sweet Pea calls her Sissy, so sweet. I love sister stuff.) and too old to get away with some stuff that Brother does. So, I decided she need a Mommy and Me day. Where we eat lunch at her place of choice and my attention is completely on her. I did this back in the summer with Sweet Pea. We went to a movie(free summer movies at Regal!) and had popcorn and enjoyed a fun day together. We are also going to get this week's groceries. This is good for her. She's like me: Shopping Queen!(I am so glad both of my girls LOVE to shop! It makes me smile!) So today the Shopping Royalty will be out and about looking for what deals may be found! :)  I look forward to hearing what she has to say. They're only little once and I really want to soak up every ounce of their sweet voices and imaginations I can. Next up will be The Boy's day! I'm not sure what we'll do together but I'm sure it will be interesting.(By the way my baby will be 3 on Saturday. 3. I may cry.) I am really going to try to make a mommy and me day at least once a month. That may not seem like a lot but it's an improvement from nothing, Right? Right! I was going to try this during the summer but you know how life gets in the way and our priorities shift. So, here's hoping you have a great day! I know I will because with all that I have in my life, how could I not?

P.S. I am totally listening to Christmas music while I'm typing. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas! My favorite time of the year! :)

Update #....Um, Yeah I lost count

Whew....Life is what happens in between blogs. And boy, oh boy life has been busy. Here's a short, medium, long update, since it's been almost a month since I last updated. Reason number one million I haven't updated: Home school. Home school has been going great. We have our "bad" days which really aren't that bad. They just consist of Sweetie Pie chasing The Boy and The Boy chasing Sweetie Pie all while Sweet Pea is trying to guess what sound a letter makes. Guess what sound a letter makes. She has known what every letter says for a gazillion years! At these times, I think why did I want to home school again? Then, there are the rest of the days. The days when, by the grace of God, the two younger ones are being quiet. ( Doing color pages or building blocks, etc.) When Sweet Pea started reading. All by herself. It was the best feeling in the entire world. My baby is reading and I taught her. It really makes me proud of her. She is so smart and loves to read and learn. She is a whiz at math. Loves it! It's days like that, that make me so incredibly happy to be home schooling. Not to mention, the freedom we have. We can home school morning, noon, and/or night. And it's OK! I love it!
Reason number one million and one: Laundry. I loathe laundry. I love for it to be clean. I love for it to be put away. Number of times that actually happens in a month: maybe 3, if, it's a "Super Mom" week. It doesn't happen a lot, but when it does...I really feel like a "Super Mom". But let me tell ya, if I were "Super Mom", Laundry would be my kryptonite! I see dirty laundry in a basket and immediately want to cry. So, instead of wasting tears on such a vicious cycle, I close my eyes and eat a hidden Reese cup and all is back to normal! :) Reason number one million and two:  Shopping! Well, not real shopping, grocery shopping. Which really takes some time. Family of 5 + Budget = lots of stores with sales and coupons. :) And no, I'm not an Extreme Couponing maniac. Most of the time! I don't take 40 hours a week to put together my coupon trips because well I have a life. See reasons one million and one through two. I do like to save money and shop the sales. On a side note: I bought candy for 50% off at Wal-Mart yesterday! Woo-hoo! I put the chocolate in the freezer ( with instructions to the hubs: do not eat!) and into the stockings they go at Christmas! The kids: none the wiser with a sugar high on Christmas morning! :)
PINTEREST. If you haven't tried it. You should. Like yesterday. It is so awesome. They have crafts, food. house stuff, cleaning secrets, you name it, they have it! I found a recipe for Homemade Butterfingers. And Oh. My. Goodness. They are so good and taste just like the real thing. Sigh. I have found so many gift ideas for Christmas. I can't wait to try them out! If you want visit my boards and follow me at http://pinterest.com/fowlerlady/ You will have so much fun! Trust me!
Well I guess that's really the only reasons I have. They are good reasons. Oh, and Netflix added the Vampire Diaries to the instant viewing list! We had never watched it and now we are hooked. It's a really great story. Not for kids, obviously, but very good. Anyway, I just cleaned 1/2 my house and my kids have just re-destroyed the half I cleaned. Sigh. Why? As Sweet Pea said last week when I asked her are you trying to make me crazy? Yes, Yes we are.  :) And so goes life! Have a great day!

Life is Great...even if I have to do laundry!

What a crazy week it's been! Well, it's probably just this crazy family that makes the week seem crazy! Yeah, we'll go with the second one. I have done more laundry in the past three years than I have ever wanted to do. Ever. In my whole life. I hate strongly dislike potty training. It is one of (the very few) things I hate strongly dislike about being a parent. This is part of the reason I have laundry that covers my entire couch and looks larger than Mt. Everest! The boy does pee-pee in the potty. Most of the time. He can use the potty, he just chooses to play and torture his sisters instead. We are still working on the ahem other part. By the time he actually ahem accomplishes the other task, I may just be crazy from folding laundry that I'm just going to have to wash and fold again in 2.3 hours. Another reason I have laundry that rolls out of my laundry room like a volcano that has erupted is, Sweetie Pie. She is a (almost) 4 year old little girl. Who loves clothes. Who hates to be dirty. Even if she's really not dirty. Do you see the pattern? She likes to change and in the process, there are clothes everywhere. By the time I get to their rooms to clean them, I don't remember what she has worn and what she hasn't. *Sigh* So I do the old sniff and check to see if they smell dirty. Then I usually pick up a shirt that her brother has pee-peed on. Thanks. Just what I needed, the lovely smell of urine. Not!! So, there is the majority of my multiple laundry issues. Then I think about my girls being teenagers and I cry. Not just because they'll be teenagers, but because of all. the. clothes.

A note to my sweet, beautiful, smart, girls: You will learn how to do your own laundry at the age of 5 and 4 when I'm tired of doing all the darn. laundry. You're welcome, Love Mommy :)

My son, has been a well of information and laughs this week. He's only (almost) 3 and boy oh boy! Yesterday, while I was about to scream and run away from home doing my favorite thing, laundry, he made me laugh and reminded me why I stay at home and get to do the laundry.

The boy: Mommy, by plya(blend all the letter together and this is kinda what it sounded like) is hurt.
Me: Um, Your plya? What is your plya?
The boy: Dis wight here...as he points to his nipple and dis is my tattoo...as he points to his other nipple.(Thank God, he only has two!)
Me: oh, well...that's good to know.

Sweet Pea: (yelling as loud as she can, even though I'm in the next room...with the door open) MOMMY, BROTHER HAS HIS DRINK AND IS MAKING A MESS ON THE TABLE.
Me: OK, thanks...now that I can't hear.
Me: Oh son, grumbles are you trying to send me to the looney bin today?
The boy: YES!
Me: Oh good to know, at least we are on the same page. I now know what my day holds. At least in the looney bin I will get to sleep.

Me: Stop jumping on your bed. You're going to get hurt.
The boy: exactly 5.6 seconds later...I hear crying form his room. Mommy! I broke my head!
Me: Trying not to laugh hysterically because at this point I would rather laugh than cry Are....laughs..you...laughs..ok?
The boy: Yes, I'm fine.
Me: Well, good! I'm glad your head's not broken!
The boy: Yeah...

All of this happened in one day. Not even a full day. But between 8:30 and 4:30 yesterday. I'm glad I don't work outside the home and take them to daycare because, they would probably kick us out I get to enjoy this and not miss out on all the crazy chaotic happening we call The Fowler Family.

This week in home school, My Sweet Pea has learned to read a small book. Yay! It's so exciting! She still struggles through some words, but after sounding them out she gets it! Some times she gets so excited she just sees the first word and guesses (ex: she sees the h in has and assumes it's had) She is doing really well though! I am so proud of her. :)  It really is rewarded to see your kids accomplish such a goal.(Regardless of home school or public school! )

So here's to a great weekend because my partner in monkey wrangling is home and I have reinforcements  because my awesome husband is home and we have 3 awesome kids! Life is Great!*

*Even if Mt. Laundry is going to explode in 2 days and I have to do it all again! :)

No wonder I have a headache....

I have a headache. I was trying to figure out why, then I ran over the past month in my head. I know why my head aches. Now it hurts worse. Here's what I found in my head. I hope you don't get a head ache too. 8~)
(P.S. this is only half of it....You're welcome!)

  1. I haven't blogged in almost a month. I'm sad. I didn't realize that a month could fly by so fast. What? How did that happen?
  2. Whining. I think I may end up plucking my eyes out with a spoon if I have to hear Sweetie Pie whine one. more. day. Over what, you may ask? Take your pick. She'll whine about it. She's a professional.
  3. Sweetie Pie is a great example of Birth Control for teenager's. One hour with her whining over a cloud in the sky and they will never want to have children. Ever.
  4. I might do better to just put my iPod ear buds in and turn up the music, than pluck my eyes out with a spoon. At least I could still see her pretty little face.
  5. If I have to tell the boy to quit putting things in his underwear I may just cry.  "Boy, get that DVD out of your underwear!" "I'm sorry but Special Agent Oso doesn't like to ride in your underwear!" mumbles to self..."especially if you don't stop pooping in YOUR PANTS!"  " While, using your underwear as a gun holster is cleaver...really...could you please find some pants?...and not your sister's tutu...you're a boy." "Why are you wearing you're sister's tutu and where is your underwear?!" "Shaking your hiney to make me laugh doesn't get you out of wearing underwear and pants!" *Turns head to keep from laughing while I try to get on to him and find his underwear at the same time!*
  6. France just passed a law to regulate the use of Ketchup in school cafeteria's. So they don't mess up their fancy French palate or something crazy like that.
  7. France would have a heart attack if they saw that Sweet Pea likes to eat ketchup, mustard, and pickles ON her turkey sandwich. Let's not forget the chicken nuggets(where exactly do they come from?) and mac and cheese...out of the box!  How's that for a fancy palate!? Ha!
  8. My loving, sweet, caring, handsome husband was sick yesterday. Don't worry ladies, he's better today! WHEW! (I love you my sweet, caring, handsome, loving hubby! *hugs*)
  9. I spent most of my day yesterday in 2 different doctor's offices. At least I got to go to Target and look around while the medicine was being filled.
  10. I should have gotten a coffee from Starbucks.
  11. I have to buy some fall clothes. This made me happy. Then I tried on a few tops at Target. Then I cried. Just Kidding. Well kinda...
  12. Sweet Pea lost her second tooth. She pulled it all by herself! I'm proud. I'm sad. She's so little. She's so big!
  13. I'm conflicted!
  14. I didn't drink my coffee this morning.
  15. I'm a little cold.
  16. My ears hurt. I hope I'm not catching the family cold going around this house. Really. I've had it already! For almost a month. Move on. Thank You.
  17.  I just remembered, I ran out of creamer for my coffee. Sigh
Well, I may have a head ache do to life. Good News: At least my heart only aches from being so full. This makes me smile in spite of a little girl whining, a boy running around half naked, and a big girl with her own special palate. Memories are worth the head ache! Now....How can I get a Cinnamon Dolce Latte without going to Starbucks or the grocery store?.....Anyone?   :)

My Alabama kids and one dog...

I love this picture! I'm not sure what the Boy is doing but it makes me laugh!
We are Alabama fans. Simple as that. I use to be an Auburn fan until I married my husband and he converted me. So, naturally, our kids are Alabama fans, for the moment anyway. If they want to be Auburn fans they can they just have to move out and change their names we won't hold it against them, we'll love them just the same! ;) Every year I try to take their pictures with their Alabama gear on so we can compare from years past. Notice the key word in that sentence is try. I think it's in their genes to never look at the camera at the same time. If they do look at the camera only one or two are smiling, the rest are half blinking and frowning. The Mr. even tried to hold Corndog (remember, that's our dog...he wasn't using an actually corn dog....this time)over my head so they would all be smiling and look at me. Yeah, it didn't work. Here are some pictures I was able to get before they ran off to play with Corn dog, the dog, not the food.
See, one child looks at the camera, the other two not!
I'm not sure what Sweet Pea is saying but Sweetie Pie's face is priceless!

A picture with Corndog. I can't even get the dog to look at the camera!

One of the few good pictures!

Chattanooga Zoo Trip....

A few weeks ago we took a day trip to the Chattanooga Zoo. I found a great deal, via Groupon, for a year long membership to the zoo for super cheap. Included in the membership, is a list of zoo's all over the U.S. that you can either get in for free or get a deeply discounted price. So, I thought why not? Chattanooga is not terribly far away and the local zoo honors their membership and we should get in for free there. So we packed a small backpack(full of snacks, extra change of clothes, band-aids, you get the idea!) and headed out to Chattanooga. We had so much fun! It was a smaller zoo, but it was really nice! It was the middle of August, which concerned me, I was worried it would be too hot. Thankfully, though it was beautiful with a constant light breeze. We slathered the kids with sunscreen and headed into the kids second home the zoo. The good news is they didn't keep my collection of monkeys my kids. :) Here are some pics....Enjoy!
This guy was staring at us the whole time we were staring at his friends in the cage. It freaked me out when I realized he was staring at us. All I could think about was the lady who was mauled by a chimp. shudder. creepy.

They also rode the carousel while we were there. Notice Sweetie Pie holding on for dear life! She rode the whole way like this! There was NO WAY she was falling off!

This overgrown chicken(it's really a bird from Africa) would duck it's head down and pop back up right in front of the kids. Like it was playing peek-a-boo. Then it saw my husband, and stared him down.  This was followed by him(the bird not my husband!) pecking the cage trying to attack Micah! It was hilarious! The kids and I couldn't stop laughing. They are still talking about it!
They had random carvings and statue's throughout the zoo, and the kids were, for some reason,  more than willing to have their picture taken by every. single.one.  I love them!
I don't remember what they are staring at, but they look cute doing it! ;)

Can we just do math instead?

It has been a great week. We've gotten some much needed rain, the Mr. was off an extra day, Summer is gone, the house is no longer a certified disaster area the house is clean, laundry is...well laundry. It's never really done. The first week of home school at the Fowler Academy is coming to an end. We have survived! It went amazingly well. Sweet Pea woke up before 7, no less, on Tuesday morning with her dress up jewelry on ready for school. We have learned the letters A, B,C,and D. She is learning to write them correctly. We've learned to count to 3.(She already knows most of the school work we've been doing, so we are reviewing. Making sure it's engraved in her noggin'.) She learned to write 1,2,and 3. (Those number 2's are a little tricky!) And lots of review on opposites, rhyming words, sight words, etc. She loves it! We did, however, have a few issues with writing. Sweet Pea told me," Do we have to do tablet work? I don't like it. Can we just do math instead?"
Me," Um, no. You have to learn to write correctly."
Sweet Pea," But, I like math better."
Is this my child? I liked most math, except geometry. I loath geometry. Is it necessary? Really? I think no. Just don't let my kids know that. You know, since they still have to learn it. ;)

Sweetie Pie and the Boy also did some school work. Sweetie Pie is also learning her letters and to write a little, by means of tracing on a worksheet with pictures to color. I also gave the Boy a letter picture to color. He made one mark on it and said, "Dis tolor don't wurk!" He then threw the crayon and crumbled the paper up and threw it in the floor. He decided cartoons are a better learning method. I mean, come on, what's there not to learn on Jake and the Neverland Pirates or Phineas and Ferb. Wait...maybe he shouldn't watch Phineas and Ferb since all they talk about is 104 days of summer vacation and school comes along just to end it.....

Um..Yeah. That explains a little....

This is my husband's child.

This explains a little more....

I love you, Micah.

:)

They have also been stringing beads on pipe cleaners, making necklaces, bracelets, and one time a boat. They've also been building with small foam blocks I bought in the dollar bin at Target. It keeps them busy and semi-quiet. Well, until the Boy takes Sweetie Pie's blocks away. Then she squeals so loud a deaf man in China could hear her politely asks him to return her blocks. ahem.

All in all, we have enjoyed it greatly. We start by 8:30 and are done by 10:30. It works out great. I just have to rework my schedule to figure out how to clean my house and do the laundry as well as school. Then again, I've been trying for almost 8 years to figure out how to keep my house clean and do the laundry all at the same time. We'll see how well that goes. :)

I think this is going to be a great school year. I'm excited for what the year holds. Except for maybe the squeal that can wake the dead. That...I could live without! Happy Friday! :)

Wow! Wasn't it just September last year?

I can't believe it's September already! I am beyond ready for fall. I've missed the cooler weather. College Football is officially starting tomorrow! Woo-Hoo! We really are a football loving family. Even the kids will stop what they are doing and watch for a little while. (You know, all of 2 minutes!) I found myself ready for Friday on Monday and now I'm wondering, wow Friday is here already?! I've had sinus issues this week. And this morning it moved into my vocal chords and I can't talk. The kids keep asking, " Why are yew whisperin?" I keep telling them and they look at me like I'm crazy. Then they whisper back to me. There has been a whole lot of whispering going on today. My house hasn't been this quite in 5 years! I think I like it. I may have to whisper from now on! ;) I called the doctor yesterday morning at 8:30 to see if they would call me something in for this mess. Here it is 1:00 the next day and still nothing. I called twice yesterday afternoon and the receptionist was short and snippy. I think I will be finding a new doctor. Thankyouverymuch!

Soap Box: How hard is it to return calls or phone in a prescription in between seeing patients? I know I'm not a doctor. I use to work for a decent size doctors office(6 doctor's) and they all saw patients and returned calls. I know it can be done. Some days were busier than others but they still at least told the patients that much. Soap Box done.

I just finished reading The Help. It was a really great book. It makes you think. It seems like the south, in the book, was so long ago and yet it really wasn't that long ago. If you haven't read it, I think you should. It's really good. Now, I want to see the movie. :)

We start school on Tuesday. Yikes! I am excited and yet anxious. I keep wondering to myself, what the public schools are teaching at this moment. Will she be ahead or behind. Then, I think, it doesn't really matter what the public schools are teaching at this moment. We get to do thing's at our own pace, in our own time. As long as she learns what she needs to, who cares if we do it a little differently than the public schools. That's the whole point of home school. We get to teach her one on one. She will get to learn things that many don't get to learn because they are in public schools. Example: They may learn just what they have to learn to get to the next level in public schools. But if a particular subject really interests our kids then we can go deeper and learn more than what's just required. *I'm not down grading public schools. There are a lot of great teachers out there who do more than what's just required. I'm glad they give of their time to teach. This is just my opinion and what we think works best for our family.* Yes, I think I'm more excited than anxious.

Last weekend we went to the Chattanooga ZOO. It was fun. I was really concerned it may be too hot, but it wasn't. It was warm but there was a nice breeze blowing. The kids had a great time. And so did the Mr. and I. There was this one overgrown chicken with crazy hair Exotic African Bird of some sort, that stared the Mr. down and tried to peck him through the fence. It was a little scary but mostly funny. The kids and I got a good laugh out of it! I'll post pictures soon!

I guess that's it for now, since my kids are suppose to be brushing their teeth but they are playing in the water instead. I also have a mountain of laundry to fold. Literally. It looks like Mt. Everest has been moved to my couch.(It doesn't help that I haven't folded the laundry in a week, 5 days, 3, no 2, One day.Yes, One day. It really piles up!) I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

5 question Friday!

I'm doing the happy Friday dance! Thank God, it's not available to anyone but my kids, who happen to be staring at me like I'm a little crazy. It's OK. I probably am! ;) I've been rather productive today! Yes!

Mama: 1 Disasters beyond my control: 0

I have washed off the front porch. (It's concrete, so it makes for easy clean up!) Washed off all the outside toys. Gave the kids a bath since they were wet and covered in grass. Somebody, decided to let them wear their bathing suits so she could spray them with the water hose. AHEM.  I made a homemade apple pie. Homemade pie crust...included. Thankyouverymuch. I have supper started and dirty dishes already loaded in the dishwasher. It doesn't happen too often but today has been productive.

Tomorrow we're taking the kids to a zoo. I'm so excited to have a family day. It makes me happy! The kids are beyond excited! Maybe they won't keep them. Ha.Ha.Ha.Ha.

Ahem. Moving on!

It's been a while since I've participated in 5 Question Friday over at Mama M's so I thought I would join in the fun today! If you would like to join, go visit her, copy the questions, link up, and join in! :)

1. Did you make any fun purchases this week?

Yes, I did! I bought some new dishes! I have been wanting them for a while but they were full price, and I am anti-full price if I can help it. Then yesterday, they were half off!!! Yay! So I bought them. They have red, which is my favorite color to put in the kitchen. Why? In the words of Sweetie Pie," cause, it's pretty!" And they have chickens on them. Not all over them. The point is they're pretty, and I'll post a picture later of how pretty they really are!
2. If you could go to any musical concert, what would it be?

Hmmmm. Probably a Bon Jovi concert. I know, I know. I love them too! They maybe older but I still love to hear them sing! :)
3. What is your least fav/ most fav house chore?

In an ideal world, I would have no chore at all! But, since that's not the case, I would say my least favorite is laundry. It's so annoying. My most favorite would be grocery shopping. I guess, if that's a chore. It's nice to get out of the house and go shopping. I love shopping. Even if it's for groceries! ;)

4. Would you prefer new appliances or clothes?

New clothes. I love clothes. If shoes and handbags are included in clothes that would be perfect. Plus my appliances are only 3 years old, so they are still new!

5. Miracle Whip or Mayo?

Yuck! Neither! I'm not a fan of Mayo or Miracle Whip. I don't mind if there is a little bit in like a potato salad or something like that. But, I don't want to bite into a sandwich and taste Mayo. Gag!

That's all for today, y'all! I hope you have a great weekend!
